The Historic Edenton District COGIC | Win Souls, Keep Souls, Train Souls

Est. 1936 · Greater North Carolina Jurisdiction · Holiness & Pentecostal witness

One Gospel. One Mission. Churches Growing Together.

Our assignment is to strengthen churches, develop leaders, preserve our heritage, and multiply disciples through the power of the Holy Ghost. Win Souls. Keep Souls. Train Souls to Win Souls!

A Historic District With a Living Mission

The Historic Edenton District Church of God in Christ is a fellowship of congregations serving northeastern North Carolina. We honor our heritage while equipping local churches to preach Christ, care for people, teach the Scriptures, prepare leaders, and serve their neighbors. Our district exists to strengthen local pastoral leadership and empower each congregation—not replace it.

“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” — Ephesians 4:11–12 (KJV)

Our Heritage: 1936–2026

In 2026 the district commemorated ninety years of ministry heritage. We seek to honor those who went before us by preserving records, listening to witnesses, and continuing the Gospel work with integrity. The district history project distinguishes verified archival facts from recollections still awaiting documentation.
